Every parting is a form of death, as every reunion is a type of heaven. ~Tryon Edwards

It´s been so long since I have written a blog, so I decided to start to do a draft of one and hopefully add photos later.

the last four weeks have been pretty full on, coming home to Australia was a big thing for me and I really didn´t know how it would all pan out.  But as with most things in life it has surpassed all my expectations.

Coming here is ofcourse like coming home.   However, so much has changed here in terms of infrastructure - the road network, new housing developments etc.

But.... lets get to the gritty.  Traveling with the aunts here was a treat, they were great, knew to just follow and trust that I knew what I was doing.  Even though I did not have as much of a trust in myself... but having them depend on me made me a little bit tougher.

Coming "home" has been excellent.  I have such a great bunch of friends - both from school, work and within the Icelandic community and lets not forget the fantastic family that I have here!

I really must admit though that I do miss Iceland,  this visit to my old home has just reaffirmed that I do belong in my little hut in the old part of a northern Icelandic fishing village.  My heart is there and so is my home.  This trip has also made it easier for me to come back again... I would so love to come and travel this wonderful country again, visit old haunts and see how much they have changed.  lf only it wasn´t so far between the two.

We have had so much fun catching up with family and friends - there are tonnes of photos on fb and when I get home I will load them onto flickr.

Now it´s the last day and we are getting ready to go - it´s funny how you go into waiting mode - worrying about whether the bags are too heavy - if the cabin baggage is too big (reminds me I must check the Qatar site).  My sister has been an absolute hero - but I know that saying goodbye will be hard for her - it always is - but it´s not bye - it´s just see you later - I think I have seen her more since I moved to Iceland than when I lived here in Aus on the East Coast.

Hi there! Well it has been a long time in which I've been following your blog... and I'm wondering how you are doing! My sweetie Georg Bjarni and I are looking at a property in Blondous possibly to buy - then we would be neighbors! Good luck on your trip to Australia... was it hard to leave your new (old) favorite country of Island?
