Guðný took this photo of me at the rétt last Saturday and although it is already on fb I thought I would share it with those that don´t go there. Especially for my brother J and sister U... 'cos if they make the picture bigger they will see the blokes in the background, my uncles Þóri and Stebbi, cousin Ásgeir and his son Vikingur.... as well as of course in the foreground all those lovely sheep...

Yesssss, sheep are lovely... sheep = yarn!!! Yarn = knitting!!! They look so clean.
The other day I was telling a friend that I knew someone in Iceland. She became so confused... "Iceland??? What do people do in Iceland? How do they live? How do they make a living?" I told her to check out your blog and that she'd find it very interesting.
Thanks for that... yeh they are super clean looking, todays lot were a little less so as they kept lying down in the mud and getting shoved along by dirty boots. Sheep are 50% contrary and 50% stupid, well thats how you feel when you have been trying to coax them for hours and hours to move in the right direction. Have you ever knitted with Icelandic Lopi, its very harsh, lots of lanolin and water repellent. Also, extremely warm - therefore not good for Texas I guess. The natural colours are just amazing.
I have heard of Lopi, but didn't know what the difference was. I am thinking of knitting some sturdy socks to wear when I have to wear my rain boots. We have our few cold days and if we are unlucky we'll get iced in for a couple days a year. It just doesn't last very long.
