Of eruptions and other such things.

http://mila.is/um-milu/vefmyndavelar/eyjafjallajokull-fra-thorolfsfelli/

As I am totally computer illiterate as far as how to add in links I will just put the whole thing in..  The above is a  link to a web cam near the eruption site.. well not near but close enough.

The eruption as it is at the moment is quite harmless, in that so far it is not violent and the ash from it is not full of shit that will harm livestock..... but..... the volcano next door Katla has been known for its devastating effects on life in Iceland.  Also, it has been the usual thing that once the eruptions happen next door then Katla will awaken and unleash her devastating force.....   Who knows...  it's all a part of what the earth or if you like mother nature can unleash.

Its a pretty wee hill, so what has Iceland done to deserve being in the news so much over the last year? ah the curse of the pilot whales!

Well I am back in Saudarkrokur - and I will have you know - that we went to Fljótshlíð to se the eruptions.... This was the most one off the most "owsome" thing I have ever seen!!! The weather was so nice - not a cloud on the sky - but really really cold.... First we did not see anything - just people - cars and buses - but when it got dark - we saw the volcano - spitting lava up in the air.... Suddenly we could see a very long line of light coming up from the glacier - everybody was going: "O my God - the whole glacier is about to explode!!!".... BUT - it was only the moon peeping up over the volcany - a whole moon - it was red and yellow - and we could see the "face" - it was smiling on to those strange icelandic people - that had dragged their young kids out of bed - to go into the wilderness to look at an eruptions!!! Nobody does that but the icelanders;°).....
It was a once in a lifetime experience - the volcano - the big moon over it and the northen lights - all putting on a spectacular show for the little creatures on earth.....
JUST LLLLOOOOOVVVVEDDDD IT !!!;°)....
